General Rules
Contest Opens January 1, 2009
- Your entry must be a new work
The project must be created specifically for the Made by MAC Creative Challenge. You are not permitted to submit a pre-existing project or a project that already exists elsewhere on the web. Your project may incorporate preexisting materials, provided you modify or transform them enough to create a new work.
- Your entry must be hosted on the web.
Your entire project must reside online. Your entry can have its own domain name or be hosted by a third party such as YouTube, Flickr, Wordpress, your McMaster Webpage etc. See our FAQs for ideas on where to host your project.
- Your entry must comply with the Made by MAC Creative Challenge Official Rules.
See Official Rules for more details. Please refrain from submitting pornography or illegal content of any kind.
- One person, one entry.
You are only allowed to submit one entry per person. If you work in a group, you are permitted to submit as many entries as you have group members, up to a limit of 4 (four) total projects per group. Only one semi-finalist and one prize may be awarded per entry. All submissions must be made by McMaster students. You will be asked to provide a valid student card in order to obtain your prize. See Official Rules for details.
- No bots, no scams.
You are permitted to promote your entry however you see fit, with two exceptions: You may not use automated processes that fake votes, or scams that produce votes without people actually voting on your content.
- No paid work.
Your entry cannot advertise or market a commercial product. Semi-professionals can enter the contest, but they may not submit paid work they are doing for a client.
- Tweak all you want.
Because you are responsible for hosting your project you will access to your entry throughout the contest. Feel free to tweak, improve, or modify you entry throughout the contest.
- Be good.
We reserve the right to immediately remove and disqualify any entry that does not meet the contest rules or interferes with the integrity or spirit of the contest.
- Tip your hat.
Materials found on the library’s Peace and War in the 20th Century website may be incorporated in your project but must be cited on a credits/references page at the end of the piece. For more information on how to do this, please contact Catherine Baird.
- Be creative.
Make it Cool. Make it Creative. Make it on a Mac.
